General Mitchell International Airport is located in Milwaukee, and the West Bend Municipal Airport is located on the east side of West Bend on State Highway 33. Highway 33. The community’s location makes it a popular getaway and daytrip destination for visitors from the Milwaukee and Chicago areas, as well as nearby Fond du Lac. West Bend is only 40 minutes northwest of Milwaukee, 30 minutes south of Fond du Lac and just two hours north of Chicago.
