The NPT 2008 Power & Influence POWER & INFLUENCE GALA onprofit sector leaders, event sponsors and The NonProfit Times staff gathered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. recently to salute the 2008 NPT Power & Influence Top 50 honorees.The 50 most influential leaders were featured in the August 1 issue of The NonProfit Times. The event was sponsored by The NonProfit Times, Barton-Cotton, Mitch-Stuart Inc., Sage Software, Serenic Software and Think360. Music was provided by recording artists Todd Collins and Keith Yaun. The gala featured a mix of repeat honorees, among them Diana Aviv of Independent Sector, Robert TOP 50 Gala Leaders Shine At NPT N Egger of D.C. Central Kitchen, Kelly Browning of the American Institute for Cancer Research and the Direct Marketing Association and Melanie Lockwood Herman of the Nonprofit Risk Management Association. Among the first-timers was Sara Gould of the Ms. Foundation for Women, Marguerite Kondrake of the America’s Promise Alliance and Sterling Speirn of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. This year’s keynote speaker was award-winning CBS News foreign correspondent Kimberly Dozier.
