All of Shop.org’s proceeds from CyberMonday.com benefit the Ray M. Greenly Scholarship Fund, which was established to provide financial support to students pursuing careers in e-commerce. The fund commemorates the late Ray Greenly, Shop.org’s former vice president of research and member services. CyberMonday.com has raised more than $800,000 for the scholarship fund since its inception in 2006. NRF Foundation Launches Website THE NRF Foundation, the research and education arm of the National Retail Federation, will unveil its redesigned website this month at NRF’s BIG Show. NRFF is the retail industry’s go-to source for retail career information through a virtual community of retailers, educators, students and business partners. NRFF has created this community through the new Retail Careers homepage and Retail Careers blog. The website includes information about retail news, retail jobs and upcoming events, in addition to retail training and certification, research and a retail careers center. CyberMonday.com Raises $400,000 for Scholarships CYBERMONDAY.COM, a one-stop shop for online deals from hundreds of retailers, raised more than $400,000 for the Ray M. Greenly Scholarship Fund during the 2008 holiday season. It also served once again as the official e-commerce site for Shop.org’s third annual Shop@Lunch event, which was held at the Hard Rock Café in Washington, D.C. Shop@Lunch encouraged local online shoppers to take advantage of retailers’ Cyber Monday sales. The event provided lunch and computers with high-speed Internet access; Strategy & Innovation Forum E-COMMERCE experts will gather in Orlando to participate in Shop.org’s Strategy and Innovation forum. Speakers and presenters will share ways that online and multi-channel retailers can optimize their assets. Additionally, attendees will hear from experts about how to survive during these challenging economic times and push ahead of the competition when the opportunity presents itself. Notable sessions include a keynote by Zappos.com’s chief operating and financial officer Alfred Lin, who will share the ingredients needed to build a brand, culture and company that matters. In a separate session, panelists from McKinsey & Co. will provide advice on how retailers can grow over the next year. Experts from AGORAD, Overstock.com, J.C. Williams Group and eCommera will discuss topics pertaining to globalization and international expansion, including operational complexities, demand generation and planning market interest strategies, specifically in Europe and Asia.
