Brown has been appointed a corporate vice president of HDr Engineering Inc. an HDr employee since 2002, he also remains West region director of Quality for the engineering and business consulting firm, which services major industries throughout the u.S. a member of NSBE since his undergraduate years at Stevens Institute of technology in New Jersey, Brown has served the Society in several leadership positions, including aE telecommunications/Publications chair (2003–07), and was honored as NSBE alumni National Member of the Year and NSBE alumni Extension Board Member of the Year in 2003. ■ Asha robinson Eddie Tunstel, Ph.D. after years of productive research with NaSa’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and a landmark mission with the Mars Exploration rovers, AE member Eddie Tunstel, Ph.D. has moved on to lead advances in robotics at the Johns Hopkins university applied Physics Laboratory. In his new job, he will conceive and pursue new missions as the Space robotics and autonomous Control lead in the JHu/aPL Space Department. this move takes him from NSBE’s region VI back to region II, home of his first alma mater, Howard university. In other news, Dr. tunstel has been elected vice president of Conferences & Meetings for the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society, serving a two-year term. He is also in his second term as chief technologist for the NSBE Space Special Interest Group. ■ Asha Robinson, secretary of NSBE-Hampton Roads Alumni Extension in Virginia, has embarked upon a new career venture as technical advisor in the patent law division of Volpe-Koenig, an intellectual property boutique law firm in Philadelphia, Pa. Before taking her current position in January, robinson was a senior engineer for Northrop Grumman Newport News in the Propulsion Plant Electrical Systems department.
