Our workshops will help you develop your academic, professional and leadership skills and give you great information about new and upcoming technologies. Here are a few workshops to look forward to: AM I MY SISTER'S KEEPER: AN OPEN DISCUSSION ON BLACK FEMALE RELATIONSHIPS IN THE WORKPLACE AND BEYOND Presented by Northrop Grumman Corporation This workshop will profile the relationship of two professional, black women from different backgrounds, different generations and a different life status. Through this open dialogue and facilitated Q&A, issues of relationships, career competition, family, community and sisterhood will be explored. Peeling back the layers of our relationships and allowing honest discussion with the women in the room, we hope to highlight the invaluable benefit of having a nurturing "sista-friend" relationship. B.E.M.O.R.E.S.T.E.M. - DJ TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOP Bringing Everyone More Opportunities and Relevant Experiences in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics is the full title of this workshop, which will expose how technology has changed the DJ industry. The purpose of the session is to increase creative thinking, student engagement and student achievement. There will be a live demo of video mixing, and students will be able to see how a record controls a video. HTML 5 CODING LAB Tiffany Sithiphone, NSBE40 Speakers and Workshops Coordinator Presented by Intel Corporation This session is one of the hands-on learning labs at NSBE40. HTML 5 is the new language of coding across various platforms. In this 120-minute lab, students will learn the fundamentals of navigating HTML 5 and meet software engineers who are developing new and innovative tools to enhance user experience for their customers. THE PARALLELS OF JOB SEEKING AND DATING This workshop will prepare the audience for the job and internship search, by reviewing the three critical components of the search process: job hunting, career fair etiquette and interviewing.
