Would you want hackers to be the first to test the security posture of your critical web applications? If you don’t, security testing for web applications during and after development is absolutely necessary. This two-day course will address software security testing and how it fits into the development life cycle. Sensible and practical testing methodologies will be presented, so you can apply these testing concepts to any of your web applications. Throughout the two days, you will be using the testing concepts learned in class to test some vulnerable web applications. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. TUT-S25 reverse-Engineering Malware — The Essentials of Malware Analysis Lenny Zeltser | Security Consulting Manager, Savvis, Inc. This two-day course will discuss the essential techniques for examining malware using a variety of system monitoring tools, a disassembler and a debugger. You will explore advanced techniques of examining the inner workings of malicious software and learn to examine malicious code to understand its logic by identifying key logic structures. You will learn to examine the program’s behavioral patterns and assembly code, plus study techniques for bypassing common code obfuscation techniques. Hands-on workshop exercises are an essential aspect of this course and allow you to apply reverse-engineering techniques by examining malicious code in a carefully controlled environment. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. TUT-S26 Analyzing Wireless Security Joshua Wright | Senior Security Researcher, Aruba Networks This course is designed to help security analysts, auditors and administrators understand wireless network real risks and vulnerabilities through hands-on experience with exploit tools and a technical understanding of where wireless security fails. Through expert-level instruction and hands-on lab exercises, students will gain experience and guidance navigating the rapidly changing world of wireless security. As part of the course, students will receive the SANS Wireless Auditing Toolkit (SWAT). This combination of hardware and software was selected to provide students with the physical tools needed to assess wireless networks based on tried-and-true analysis practices. sEssion codE TUT - S 21 Track Code Timeslot Code Day Code WWW.rsaconfErEncE.coM/2008/us 13 http://WWW.RSACONFERENCE.COM/2008/US
