I think the transformation we have seen over the past ten years is just the start. A)Obviously the housing market is going through some turbulence at the moment, because of the subprime issue in the USA, but overall I am confident that we can continue to improve people's homes, build communities where people want to live and work, and continue to attract people into the centre of Manchester. Q) How do you think the £3m for Salford Uni's regeneration scheme will affect / support the development of MediaCity and attract more people to the region? A) MediaCity will bring huge opportunities to Manchester, Salford and the whole region. I fought hard to get MediaCity, and now I am determined that the benefits are spread amongst the whole community. Link-ups with the University are vital and I want to see links with local schools too. Q) How do you think East Manchester is changing with current regeneration schemes and has improved in terms of public services and facilities? A) East Manchester is a vital part of the future success of the city as a whole. We are determined to bring new jobs, investment and opportunities to East Manchester, on top of the investment we've already seen. POLITICS ”
