NYLON - January 2008 - (Page 104) ONE HIT WONDERLAND IN THE MUSIC WORLD, THESE LADIES MAY BE CONSIDERED SINGULAR SENSATIONS, BUT IN STYLE CIRCLES THEIR INFLUENCE EXTENDS FAR BEYOND THEIR SPOT ON THE CHARTS. ANDREA TRUE “MORE, MORE, MORE” If Jenna Jameson were to lay down a hip-hop track nowadays, the public might be dismayed, but certainly not surprised. But once upon a time, porn stars were relegated to doing, well, each other. Many tried to cross over into “legitimate” careers––the co-stars of Deep Throat for example––but few succeeded. Andrea True was one of the exceptions at least, momentarily. After starring in more than 50 X-rated romps, True, with the help of producer Gregg Diamond, tried her hand at music. The result was “More, More, More,” a track written by Diamond and sung by True with the same breathy excitement she brought to her former career “performances.” It wasn’t just True’s vocal styling on “More, More, More” that seemed stuck in her porno past, it was also the lyrics. “Oooh how do you like your love?/ But if you want to know how I really feel / Get the cameras rollin’, get the action going… / More, more, more, how do you like it?” The single climbed to #4 on the Billboard charts when it was released in 1976 and was the anthem of clubs across the country. True attempted two follow up efforts, but her musical career began and ended with that suggestive disco single. At least she is remembered more for the mark she made on stage, rather than between the sheets. MATRIX AMPLIFY FOAM VOLUMIZER To keep her feathered hair looking full. $14, MATRIX.COM.
