NYLON - January 2008 - (Page 42) par avion hey nylon! Just put down the It Girl issue and loved it heaps, but what about more It Girls around the globe?! I live in Australia (North Shore Sydney!!!), and there is massive amounts going on, like Peaches Geldof is here all the time with her new fashion line. And what about Irina Lazareanu and Agyness Deyn? They’re definitely praise-worthy. NYLON, you’re my favorite mag, but don’t forget about your overseas fans! CHEERS, B E C R E I LY SYDNEY dear nylon, It was so refreshing to see your feature in the October issue about It Girls—but not it girls who are “it” because of their coke habits or sex tapes or collection of fluffy lap dogs. It Girls who have gotten attention, rather, because they have an edgy personal style, or are making waves in their particular field. It Girls who confess that H&M is one of their favorite places to shop, or who are known simply for having great personal style on the club scene are a welcome change from the Lindsays and Nicoles. Keep up the good work scouting fashionistas of a more down-to-earth breed! A.L. NEW ORLEANS, LA dear nylon, I am writing to say how much I appreciate what you are doing for fashion magazines. I am tired of seeing the same pretentious handbag in every publication and I think it is marvelous that you do not fit into that mold. As an aspiring fashion designer and lover of art, fashion and culture, I have started my own blog about anything and everything that one might find interesting. With this new venture, I am trying to gain and spread knowledge as well as explore the artistic world more. Your magazine is really helping me to do that. Thank you for being fabulous and have a splendid day. C A R O L I N E W E AV E R ZANESVILLE, OH dear nylon, Every issue of yours seems to inspire me more and more each day. Cheers. CIAO BENTLEY dear nylon, Just finished your “It Girl” issue and find myself wanting to give you 10 million kudos on how well you portrayed to the reader that Cory Kennedy and Taylor Warren are just like any other teenagers, or rather the other way around. They are more grownup than the average teenage girl, but I found that I relate to the way their sarcasm is taken as bitchiness and that they just love fashion and seem not to care the rest of the world thinks. So I’m glad to see someone who’s more “I’m too old for my age” that teenage girls can relate to in a magazine, rather than trashy “I’m an adult because I’ve slept with everyone in America” girls. Your magazine is truly everything an inspiring fashion designer/ photographer/stylist waits for every month in the mail, or sometimes I can’t wait when I see it on a magazine rack. I hope one day to be in the pages of NYLON but until then, keep up the good work and I’ll keep reading.
