We are creating change that is very badly needed, while inspiring others to find ways to do so in their own life. What did you study in school? After high school, I pretty much dove right in to the work force. Sometimes our experience in the real world can be so much more valuable than anything we can learn from a book. Who is your hero? My father. He made the decision for us to move to the U.S. from South Africa eight years ago and he single-handedly raised my brother and me during our tough teen years. He’s just a cool guy. What are you giving for the holidays this year? I’m definitely a procrastinator when it comes to gifts, so I have no idea. ALLISON DOMINGUEZ Occupation: I coordinate the “Style Your Sole” parties for Toms, where people who want to get involved can design their own shoes. Age: 22 Hometown: L.A. why does this cause matter to you? We all take certain things in life for granted, like being able to choose from eight different pairs of shoes. We shouldn’t. What’s the most challenging aspect of your job? Because Toms is a small start-up company, we’re all a part of everything here; sometimes it’s hard to say no. Who is your favorite fashion designer?
