NYLON - February 2009 - (Page 32) par avion dear nylon, Basically, thank you for making a really cool, hip magazine. I love the graphics, layouts, and pics. This is the sort of stuff that makes me want to go to college and pursue my career at an awesome magazine like NYLON! By the way, I really like the “British Invasion” page (November ’08). Peaches sounds like a cool chick. CHLOE ANDERSON BOSTON, MA dear nylon, To me you’re more than just a magazine: You’re a creative, jam-packed, dress-up box of flamboyance, fun, and eccentric, eclectic articles, illustrations, and photographs that incite my imagination. Lots of jolly good love! ALANA BALAKIAN, LONDON, U.K. dear nylon, I read your magazine regularly, and it’s stellar. That said, the article on Tamarindo (“This Side of Paradise,” October ’08) kind of threw me for a loop. I spent a month surfing in Tamarindo this past summer, and I have to say I see it more as a paradise lost than a paradise found. I fantasize about what a utopia it must have been 10 years ago, before the beaches were speckled with garbage. But no worries, I won’t hold a grudge. JESS P. TORONTO, ON dear nylon, Yes, your magazine has pages of cuttingedge clothes that no girl could live without, but it goes beyond that Every magazine says the same thing about the same clothes and the same people, except NYLON. My friends and I feel like we can relate better to your trailblazing articles because they are not all about the superstars but, rather, the rising stars. CATHERINE DIGIACOMO, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA dear the kids, We heart you. So sorry about not crediting the awesome styling you did on the Samantha Shelton shoot (“Torch Singer,” December/January ’09). No treats for us today. Maybe a soy latte, but that’s it…. Sorry about the mix-up, you are fab.
