NYLON - February 2009 - (Page 34) behind the scenes under cover: camilla belle THERE ARE CERTAIN NYLON cover girls whom we just can’t get enough of. Camilla Belle, who first graced our front page in March 2006, is one of those ladies—so this month, we asked her back for a second round. Belle has been keeping busy since we last saw her; she just wrapped her latest project, the action-packed film, Push. NYLON editorin-chief Marvin Scott Jarrett photographed her at Pier 59 Studios West. “I like to find a common ground with people,” says Jarrett. “She’s Brazilian, and I went to São Paolo years ago and loved it—the people are super-warm and friendly.” Belle showed up at the studio looking characteristically low-key, wearing a T-shirt, skinny jeans, and flats. “I had a lot of fun with colorful layering using designers like Diesel, Chanel, and Hugo Boss,” says Deborah Ferguson, the shoot’s stylist. “The funniest moment was trying to adjust Camilla’s earrings while she was standing on top of an apple box wearing Gucci platforms!” beauty note: “She has great brows and amazing skin,” says makeup artist Sammy Mourabit of Camilla Belle. To bring out her eyes, he used individual false lashes, gray eyeliner, and “lots of mascara.” A little brow pencil and sheer lip color complete the look. for her look try: Jelly Balm in Plush, Color Rich Cream Crayon in Perfectionist, Metallic Shadow Duo in Platinum, High Drama Volumizing Mascara in Ultimate Black. All, L’Oréal Paris HiP High Intensity Pigments. 034 photograph: stephen walker.
