NYLON - February 2009 - (Page 54) jeans of the month: dressing down red-carpet king giorgio armani is going casual with his new limited-edition jeans. photographed by glynis selina arban YOU KNOW HOW when two things just go so perfectly together that life’s all the sweeter for it (see gin and tonic, Captain and Tennille)? That’s definitely the case with Giorgio Armani and jeans, especially Emporio Armani’s latest offerings. The skinny- and straight-leg styles, which have a silver tag that reads ARMANI/5TH AVENUE, come in a dark navy wash inspired by the designer’s collection of blue cashmere T-shirts. And this spring, they will exclusively be available at Armani’s first American concept store in New York City. The 40,000-square-foot space will be the only spot this side of the Atlantic to stock all collections under the Armani umbrella, including Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Armani Jeans, Armani Casa (home products), and Armani Dolci (teas and confections). The space will even house a restaurant, which means you have a perfect place to sport the pants, too, maybe even with a shmancy cashmere T-shirt.
