NYLON - March 2008 - (Page 132) BLANC GENERATION There are two types of wigs (and, accordingly, two types of people who wear them)––the ones that try to look natural, and those that produce an effect that is anything but. Our preferences tend to veer towards the more outrageous options––the wigs that appear so unlike real locks that they seem more like a hat than a head of hair. And since the most recent runways were awash in neon hues that extended even to the models’ manes––Anna Sui and Marc Jacobs both featured candy-colored coiffures––we decided to try something completely colorless. Anthony Campbell, a stylist at Bumble and bumble, created this seemingly Wite-Out-dipped ’do by carefully coating a cheap, synthetic wig with hair gel, glue, and snowy spray paint. White hot, it most certainly is!
