NYLON - March 2008 - (Page 46) par avion dear nylon, This magazine has inspired me to open up a vintage store, which is a huge passion of mine. The editorial pictures make me squeal with glee. I adore the mix of highend fashion with low-end prices, mixed with vintage. That combination of clothing is fabulous. The carefree and streamlined essence of the magazine is the best out there. I can’t wait to save issues of NYLON and give them to my grandchildren when I am older. I love you guys. LOVEADA S. K E N T, W A dear nylon, I consider NYLON to be a pretty openminded magazine that helps smaller businesses and artists to get a little press. I was disappointed to see you only mentioned the two most popular presidential candidates in your “rock the vote tote bag” on page 70 (November issue). Why not mention lesser-known candidates like you mention lesser known cities and designers? It is those people that only know of Hillary and Obama and “have no interest in politics” that need to know we do have choices and we can help change this country. Having an interest in fashion doesn’t mean you can’t be just as interested in the outcome of our country. We live in a strange time where people know more about shoes and pop stars that they know about our own government. Please help readers to be as educated about our country and our rights as they are educated about the vintage shops in Williamsburg. Thanks, NYLON. Keep on rocking in the free world while it is free. H AY L E Y E . SIMSBURG, CT dear nylon, I just wanted to say thank you for featuring an article on Michael Showalter. He is an amazing talent who deserves all the attention he gets (and way more, really). Awesome job, dudes! P.S. Put M.I.A. on your cover some time? Awesome. LINDSEY C. ASHEVILLE, NC dear nylon, As a photographer, I fully enjoy your awesome magazine each time I open it up. Your layouts are so unique, so different than anything I have ever seen. I aspire to one day be able to portray such a different beauty in my work. Your story on Mary-Kate was absolutely fabulous. She is so lovely. You never fail to amaze me. I love your fashion tips, your perspective—completely gorgeous. Thank you for your rockin’ zine! MOXIE C.
