NYLON - March 2008 - (Page 50) behind the scenes UNDER COVER: RACHEL BILSON Rachel Bilson showed up sans entourage (and in her own car) to our March cover shoot at Siren Studios on Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard––later, photographer Hilary Walsh also hit the surrounding streets and a nearby motel parking lot for a few shots. Bilson arrived in jeans, a T-shirt, vest, and Mayle wedges, carrying an oversize bag which happened to be partially filled with jewelry designed by her friend Veronique Vicari (her line is called Jewelry by Veronique). No suprise that Bilson, a self-professed fashion devotee, would come armed with accessories. Stylist Aya T. Kanai couldn’t have asked for a better canvas than Bilson for showcasing spring’s greatest runway looks––the actor’s obsession with fashion makes her someone willing to try anything. She was smitten with a Chanel chain-link headband, and bright red Miu Miu ensemble, but it was the strapless cotton-candy pink Peter Jensen dress that Bilson couldn’t stop fawning over. So much so that Kanai loaned it to her for an event she was attending the following week, and the designer ended up giving it to Bilson as a gift. BEAUTY NOTE: Rachel Bilson happens to be so flawless that hair and makeup was completed in record time. Bilson’s hair was left loose and natural, while her makeup consisted of little more than precisely-lined eyes, a dash of blush and a frosty, pink lip. FOR HER LOOK TRY: Brow Finisher in Brunette, Mascara X in Black, Fluidline Eyeliner Gel in Blacktrack, Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Dollymix, Glaze Lipstick in Pervette, and Lipglass in Cultured. All, M.A.C Cosmetics. photo: hilary walsh. still lifes: chika kobari.
