NYLON - August 2008 - (Page 46) letter from the editor RED HOT + BLUE As I write this, it’s the tail end of a major heat wave in New York, and it’s really feeling like it’s time to goof off and go to the beach. Not that the last couple of months haven’t been fun: We had a big party in L.A. a few weeks ago, and the first NYLON Summer Music Tour (see photo above) has just wrapped up. It was a huge success—thanks to all of you who came out—and I can’t wait to start planning the next one. Another thing I always get excited about is our annual denim issue—I guess you could say I’m a jeans addict. And even though we revisit the denim theme every year, there’s so much stuff out there that it always feels new. As usual, we’re bringing you the latest lines to look out for, plus all the coolest styles from the labels you know and love. We caught up with Mischa Barton, the perfect muse for this issue, while she was in New York, and had a really entertaining afternoon in Williamsburg shooting her and talking to her about what her life is like these days (see page 142). The last time she was on our cover was back when she was still starring in The O.C., and as you’ll see, she’s come a long way since then. Enjoy the issue, and feel free to write in and tell us what your favorite jeans are, and how many pairs you own. Let us know if you think we’re crazy for being so obsessed we don’t think we are.
