NYLON - October 2007 - (Page 26) par avion dear nylon, I love you! Ever since my friend recommended this magazine to me, I’ve been completely addicted! I’ve fallen in love with your music features, fashion spreads, and hilarious cover articles. Even though I haven’t loved every person you’ve put on the cover, I have faith that you picked the person for a specific reason and I respect that. So shine on, NYLON, I’ll never stop reading. L O V E A L W AY S , HERMES RISISEN dear nylon, I’m neither female nor 20, but I enjoy how you produce fashion magic each month. I’m a designer in this industry and you are without a doubt one of the best fashion mags out there. Keep up the good work. D.D. NYC dear nylon, It’s so funny how I keep seeing other magazines copying your beauty and fashion Private Icon pages! Even though they often do it in a much more mainstream way, they’ve totally taken your idea. But I’ve been reading you since the beginning, NYLON, so I know you were there first! My idea: you should do more literary people. Why not a Zelda Fitzgerald Private Icon? Or Sylvia Plath? They were both fashionable and beautiful. Oh, and speaking of which, more writer profiles in the mag in general would be super cool (Zadie Smith?) just a suggestion, but I love you as you are! CLAIRE COOPER, PHILADELPHIA, PA dear nylon, I brought my first issue of your magazine just yesterday, and I can honestly say it won’t be my last! I appreciate that in your story for Nicole Richie, you actually let your readers get to know her and her personality. I mean, so many magazines out there portray her as an anorexic blonde troublemaker. I personally didn’t know too much about Nicole Richie besides the fact that she is absolutely adorable, outspoken, and has excellent fashion sense. So thanks for letting readers know. She seems very likable. You’ll be receivin’ a subscription from me! THANKS! T U E S D AY S W E E N E Y, BAKERSFEILD, CA corrections and apologies: in the september issue, factory girl was photographed by tom oxley. also, in the august issue in the m.i.a. feature on page 152, we mistakingly suggested that m.i.a’s debut album, arular, was produced by diplo: it was not.
