NYLON - October 2007 - (Page 28) behind the scenes UNDER COVER: CORY AND TAYLOR Cory Kenney and Taylor Warren may be two ladies accustomed to having their picture taken, but before our It Girl cover shoot the pair had never officially met, not to mention been photographed together. Not suprisingly though, once the camera was focused, the girls had no problem finding an immediate chemistry. A task made easier by 26 year old British photographer of the moment Matt Irwin––this is his first cover story for an American magazine– –who helped them click. Stylist Aya T. Kanai was faced with the challenge of outfitting girls recognized primarily for the way they dress––Warren, who dubs her look “NYLON on a budget” arrived at the French Connection beach house in Malibu wearing highwaisted jean shorts, an airbrushed unicorn T-shirt, moccasins, and a Miu Miu bag, while Kennedy was wearing her signature layers of bangles and necklaces with a Harley Davidson T-shirt, black boots, and a YSL Muse bag. “They look somewhat alike, so it was fun to dress them,” says Kanai. “Since they have so much personal style I wanted to add to that using the fall collections, rather than override it.” BEAUTY NOTE: When it comes to beauty, Kennedy and Warren are known more for their seemingly endless locks than for their makeup. So in keeping with that, their hair was left long and loose, and makeup was limited to a dab of foundation and blush, a swipe of lipstick (paler for Kennedy and more crimson for Warren), plus loads of mascara. FOR THEIR LOOK TRY: Color Ideal Skin Perfecting Makeup, Courbe Virtuose Mascara in Black, Magique Blush in Pink Parfait, and Color Fever Shine Lipsticks in Pink Sizz and Steamy.
