Nylon - October 2008 - (Page 28) dear nylon, After reading the September issue (which was all around lovely, thank you), I felt compelled to thank NYLON, and especially Fiorella Valdesolo, for the article “Freedom From Choice.” The article highlighted the often overlooked hypocrisy that dominates not only the television industry, but also our society in general when it comes to women exercising their legal and inalienable right to make decisions for themselves. Shame— via television, politicians, or religious activists— should not be imposed on women facing the difficult choice to have an abortion. Abortion should be handled with dignity and respect, on television and off, and I can only hope that someday it will be. I think the world will someday catch up, socially as well as fashionably. NICOLETTE-LUCY HABIB WORCESTER, MA dear nylon, I stubbed my toe for you. It was worth it. RACHEL STEVENSON RANCH, CA dear nylon, Your “green” expert (“The Green Room,” August 2008) should check her facts before she preaches. Loofahs are fruit grown on land, not “pulled out of the ocean on a mass scale.” I’d rather shower with a fruit than a plastic poof. LUCY NEW YORK, NY dear nylon, You rock my socks! I just got your magazine in the mail and put everything on hold just to read this fantastic volume of amazingness. I love love love everything that you put into your magazine— it’s all so cool and inspiring. I’m wondering if eating the mag will allow me to absorb some of the coolness that is NYLON into my system. Probably wouldn’t work, but I bet you’d still taste good. NYLON is delicious.
