Nylon - October 2008 - (Page 88) Everyone has their own vision of what the future will look like. Mine is a cross between the Jetsons and Blade Runner, and involves robotic maids, the ability to fly, and a wardrobe of form-fitting space suits made from high-tech fabrics—by then cotton would obviously be obsolete. But what does the future hold when it comes to beauty? I imagine that our locks will be genetically engineered to be frizz-free, skin will be able to magically thwart the signs of aging, black lipstick will become the new red, and we will all have hair dangling from our ears. No, I don’t mean that hair will be sprouting from newly formed follicles on our ear lobes; at least, I hope not. But I do picture the most fashionable futurists complementing their PVC business suits and precisely bobbed or bowl-cut ’dos with earrings made from strands of fluorocolored hair. Now, about that robotic maid STYLIST: MICHELLE RENEAU. HAIR: RYAN TRYGSTAD AT THE WALL GROUP. MAKEUP: HUNG VANNGO AT THE WALL GROUP. MODEL: LAUREN B AT MUSE.
