Nominate a Nurse for ONSEdge and Genentech “All for HER” Program Throughout the course of treatment for HER2+ breast cancer, patients rely on oncology nurses for so much more than just administering medications. Nurses become patients’ teachers, counselors, cheerleaders, and friends. Join ONSEdge, Inc., in partnership with Genentech BioOncology, in celebrating the special relationships formed between nurses and their patients. Do you know a special nurse who has been a source of inspiration and support for his or her patients with HER2+ breast cancer? If so, now is your chance to acknowledge that nurse’s contribution by nominating him or her for the All for HER program. Patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals can submit All for HER nominations. Four oncology nurses will be recognized for their outstanding dedication to providing quality care to patients with HER2+ breast cancer. The honorees will be announced in July and be spotlighted during a Genentech-sponsored reception at the 2008 ONS Ninth Annual Institutes of Learning. OnS Steering Council Seeks Creative, Innovative Members Do you want to work with colleagues to turn goals into useful products and programs? If so, apply for a position on the ONS Steering Council. Interested candidates must be active ONS members involved in any aspect of oncology and demonstrate leadership abilities and specific knowledge and skills relevant to the position. Experience and skills of Steering Council members may include program or project planning; working knowledge of applying research concepts to clinical, management, and educational programs and published products; online education; and strong written and verbal communication skills. Steering Council membership requires a three-year term and participation in two to three meetings per year (involves travel; cost paid by ONS), scheduled conference calls, and additional work group activities.
