Critiquing the process now can help you prepare for the next interview. Ask yourself • What information was I missing about the company or myself? • Do I have any questions that didn’t get answered? (Be sure to ask them if you are called back for another interview.) • How well did I present the value of my experience? • What were the best and worst parts of my presentation? • How could I have improved the interview? Don’t forget to send a thank-you letter to your interviewer(s) within five days of the interview. E-mailing it or sending it A by regular mail are both appropriate, so use your discretion based on the organization and the interviewer. In the letter, thank the interviewer for the opportunity and reiterate your strong interest in the job. Review your strengths, and explain what you will do to help meet the organization’s needs. Recap any information that may have been overlooked in the meeting. If you have decided after the interview that the job just isn’t for you, be courteous and send a letter to thank the interviewer for meeting with you and explain that you are no longer interested in the job.
