My good friend Peter, it is with great enthusiasm and confidence that I endorse the Florida Chamber/Central Florida
Partnership's bid to host the 2019 World Chambers Congress. Further, ACCE pledges its considerable conference
management skills and resources to the success of the event. The ACCE Board of Directors has also approved a plan
to fully integrate the program and attendees of our Annual Convention into the WCF event. This will create the largest
gathering of chamber leaders in history.
Without complete confidence in the powerful host groups in Central Florida, the ACCE professional staff and Board
leaders would never have committed itself to such a plan. 1 have met with the powerful corporate leadership of the
Orlando Chamber, as well as the outstanding team and allies Jacob Stuart has pulled together to ensure success for WCF
and ACCE in 2019. It is an impressive group, but just as important, they are an inspired group. They know that they must
and will produce a stellar event, with high value and low stress for all parties. As they say at the NASA space facilities,
located near Orlando in Central Florida, "Failure is not an option!" Capacity, vision, energy, experience. WCF will have
these critical qualities on display in Orlando.
For a decade, Anthony Parkes and I have sought to attract and motivate American chambers of commerce to engage
with their counterparts around the world through WCF. While those efforts have produced only limited results, the
desire and need to bring the US on board remains strong. By bringing the Congress to the US, those dreams of growth
in the Western Hemisphere can be realized, even if only a percentage of the US attendees in 2019 become long-term
activists in WCF.
What will it mean to have ACCE and WCF working together on the 2019 Congress? Three significant outcomes can be
expected:
1)

1,300 additional attendees, chambers from across the USA and Canada. For almost all of these participants,
it will be their first personal exposure to WCF. From this engagement, additional ties and membership
opportunities can be created for WCF. likewise, chambers and business leaders from around the globe will be
given a unique opportunity to penetrate hundreds of business lucrative North American markets - all in three
days. What a network!
