Benefits of Partnering with ACCE
The Association of Chamber of Commerce
Executives (ACCE) uniquely serves
individuals who manage chambers of
commerce in North America. ACCE's
mission is to support and develop chamber
professionals to lead businesses and their
communities. Chamber executives hold
positions requiring leadership, vision and
strong management skills. ACCE helps
chamber executives and their staffs play
a significant leadership role in their
communities.
Established in 1914, ACCE offers a wealth
of information, professional development
opportunities, management techniques and
best practices through its award-winning
publications, online education, conferences
and networking. ACCE also works to
upgrade the economic status and
professional standing of those active in
the chamber field.

ORLANDO 2019
ACCE has announced that they will hold
their customary annual meeting in
conjunction with the World Chambers
Congress in 2019 if Orlando is chosen as
the host city. This means that the Congress
will start with an estimated 1,500 additional
attendees and 90 exhibit booths. The vast
majority of these attendees are from the
United States and Canada. When another
120 countries attend the WCC, it will most
certainly create the largest chamber
meeting in history.
An outstanding team of supporting
organizations has been put together to
combine the two largest chamber meetings
in the world - the World Chambers
Congress and the annual convention of the
Association of Chamber of Commerce
Executives (ACCE) - in Orlando into what
will stand to be the largest and most diverse
gathering of chamber of commerce
executives to meet in the history of the
world. With an estimated combined

attendance of nearly 3,000 registered
professionals, this will provide
unprecedented opportunities for chamber
executives from North and South America
to convene in Orlando and build lasting
bonds with the global community
represented by the ICC/WCF.
The two organizations sharing primary
responsibility for hosting the World
Chambers Congress will be the Association
of Chamber of Commerce Executives
(ACCE) and the Orlando Regional
Chamber of Commerce. These two strong
and experienced organizations are backed
by several other major institutions: The U.S.
Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Council
for International Business, the Florida
Chamber of Commerce, the Florida
Association of Chamber Professionals
(FACP), Central Florida Chambers of
Commerce Alliance, and Visit Orlando (the
convention and visitors bureau of Orlando).
At the ACCE convention in Savannah,
Georgia this past August 2016, there was
a standing ovation of over 1,000 ACCE
delegates when Jim Thomas, Executive
Director of Orlando, Inc., made the official
announcement of Orlando's hopes of being
chosen as the host of the 2019 World
Chambers Congress. The crowd on hand
was ecstatic at the thought of having a
combined conference that would not only
foster new international relationships but
would also serve as a sign of global chamber
leadership, unity and collaboration.

A HORIZON VIEW
TO THE FUTURE
In 2014, ACCE launched the Horizon
Initiative Task Force to tap into collective
chamber wisdom and other resources to

predict how chamber organizations might
evolve over the coming decade. ACCE's
goal was not to tell chambers would do or
be in 2025, but rather seek instead to
identify influences and how they might
shape chambers and their regions.
The Horizon Initiative: Chambers 2025,
was published in the Spring of 2015.
Members of the Horizon Task Force, the
ACCE Board of Directors and a score of
others helped interpret information, share
their own realities, articulate ideas and write
this document. ACCE staff relied on trend
data provided by members and experts, but
contributors made bold assumptions. The
ongoing value of this report lies in its
potential to foster conversation and forge
new ideas about the role of chambers going
forward into the future.

GLOBAL CHAMBER
PARTNERS
ACCE, in partnership with the Orlando
Regional Chamber of Commerce, would
like to recommend an additional "business
matching" program called the "Global
Chamber Partners." This would be an
additional benefit and opportunity to foster
increased and enhanced connections
between members of the ACCE and the
ICC/WCF. Months before the 2019 11th
World Chambers Congress, ACCE
members registered for the Congress will
be matched with an international chamber
that is also planning to attend the WCC.
Matched ACCE members will have the
opportunity to reach out and welcome their
international counterparts and offer advice
on their upcoming visit to the United
States. These connection before, during
and after the Congress will hopefully help
in solidifying international bonds, the
sharing of cultural customs, and global
chamber best practices. This will also offer
a great opportunity for members of both
organizations to discuss the globally
relevant topics published in the Horizon
2025 Initiative.
