Osceola ReVIEW - November 2008 - (Page 10) Association Executive Perspective By Jeri Peyton The National Association of REALTORS® Annual Conference & Expo is being held November 5-10, 2008, right here in our backyard, Orlando, Florida. I cannot think of a better place for our members to “network” than this important event. I urge you to go experience the conference and take a lot of business cards. It is not very often, only once a year really, that we have the opportunity to network with REALTORS® from all over the United States. And this is your chance to go at very little cost. The 2008 REALTORS® Conference & Expo is a must attend to succeed in any market. This year’s convention includes the following: • Four days of intensive training you cannot find at any other real estate event • Programs for brokers, sales agents, commercial practitioners, IT professionals, International specialists, property managers and more. There are 200 programs in all. • Latest ideas and techniques for selling in today’s challenging markets • important is the 2009 Board of Directors voting process for our REALTOR® members. Please make sure you take the time to go online to our Association website, www.osceolarealtors.org, and cast your vote Monday, November 3rd through Thursday, November 6th. The 2009 slate will be presented at the Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, and will be published in the Association magazine and on our website. REALTORS®, remember the clock is ticking to complete your Quadrennial Code of Ethics. The Quadrennial ends December 31, 2008, and members who have not satisfied this requirement will be considered in violation of membership duty and shall be suspended until such time as the training is completed. The Association is offering “Popcorn & Ethics” to help you fulfill those requirements. These are non-instructed and no CE credit will be given for attending. The NAR Quadrennial Code of Ethics DVD and popcorn and soda will be offered. Please register as soon as possible on our website! If you haven’t done so already, please sign-up to volunteer for “Paint Your Heart Out” on Saturday, November 15, 2008. This is a volunteer event sponsored by the Association and the Osceola REALTOR® Foundation to paint the exterior buildings for senior citizens living at St. Cloud Villas. We are in need of paint, materials and cash donations. Please call the Association at (407) 846-0117 if you wish to make a donation or volunteer. Lastly, please mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 16, 2008, for our Annual Membership Meeting.
