Osceola ReVIEW - January 2009 - (Page 3) So long 2008. We welcome 2009 with enthusiasm. In the year 2009 we are embarking on another great year for REALTOR® Education with classes such as Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac Loans, Core Law, Effective Marketing and Short Sales to name a few. The Association has put together a catalog outlining the Continuing Education classes for 2009. This catalog can be found at the Association, as well on the web site under “Education”. All of the Continuing Education classes in the catalog are free. A savings of up to $35.00 each. Again, there are a variety of topics and the best FAR instructors in the business ready to teach you what you need to know. If you are a REALTOR® who has renewed your license at least once, remember that according to DBPR you must have 11 Specialty hours and 3 Core Law hours. If you are a new REALTOR® and have not renewed your license before, you must complete the 45 hour postlicensing course required by the State of Florida. You can check what DBPR requires you to complete by going onto their web site at www.myfloridalicense. com and click on “View My Continuing Education”. Please remember that all registrations go through our web site, www.osceolarealtors.org. Just click on “Member login’ and from there you will see the Education Calendar. Detailed registration instructions can be found both on the web site as well as the 2009 Education Catalog. Knowledge Services News sure that you go all the way through the process until you see a page that says “Print your receipt”. It is not completed until you see this page that signals you are registered. The steps for registering for a class online are listed below. All registrations for educational classes go through the website: 1. Go to www.osceolarealtors.org 2. Click on “Member Login” 3. Enter your log on ID (this is your NRDS/MLS ID) 4. Enter your password 5. Click on “Education Calendar” 6. Register for all the classes you would like 7. Print your Receipt. It is not completed until you see this page that signals you are registered. ■ Last year the Association offered two very successful GRI courses: GRI 1 and GRI 3. This year the Association is offering GRI 1 in March and GRI 2 in May. This is a perfect opportunity for you to earn this prestigious designation, but to fulfill your postlicensing requirements if necessary. GRI 1, Standards of Practice, qualifies for Sales Post-Licensing and GRI 2, Essential Real Estate Techniques, qualifies for 30 hours of the Broker Post-Licensing. I would like to thank Mary Cooper of Goodwin Realty for volunteering her time and becoming your 2009 Education chair. DID YOU KNOW? We typically have many members that show up for a class and say that they registered for the class but their name is not on the Sign-In Sheet.
