THE NAME OF THE MOVEMENT
is athleisure, and unlike many
clothing trends, it isn't going anywhere. This activewear evolution
first showed up on the fashion
scene at the end of 2014, and it has
continued to grow in popularity,
so much so that today consumers are dishing out premium
prices for fitness leggings or longsleeved tops that they can wear
everyday. Athleisure has become
the new casual for people who live
an active lifestyle-athletes and
non-athletes alike-thanks to
its comfort and versatility. Plus,
because of the technical fitness
properties, athleisure pieces can
still function for a workout, trail
run, or pick-up game. Here's what
customers are looking for when it
comes to their athleisure getup.
BRA CROPS
Fit to be seen! The preponderance of selfies has abolished the
conceited stereotype that once
dogged self-photography-today
it's about celebrating the body
you work hard to have. While it's
not appropriate to walk around
in a lacy bra, a sports bra with a
cut similar to a crop top is more
than acceptable. Cute and stylish
can still equate to functional and
secure-and it can take you just
as far as a basic black racerback.
STANDOUT LEGGINGS
Whether it's the pattern, mesh
panel cut-out placement, or because they have a slip-in pocket
large enough to securely stash
a cell phone, leggings are about
more than just performance.
Men are now layering tights, and
women are wearing them as a
statement piece. And don't forget,
most pairs still support your muscles and aid with recovery, too.
