(SFG) is a leading U.S. producer and marketer of a wide variety of premium branded and private-label processed meat products, including the Field brand. SFG products are available through a wide-range of outlets including national and regional supermarkets, independent food retailers, delicatessens, club stores, convenience stores and food service distributors. SFG currently operates two modern manufacturing facilities, located in Illinois and Kentucky, with a total capacity of over 200 million pounds per year. Established in 1914 in Owensboro, Ky., the Field brand represents traditional values of times long past. A company founded on service and quality, Field continues to produce exceptional products made with select cuts of meat and all natural spices just as it was nearly 100 years ago. By observing these old time recipes and craftsmanship, Field delivers consistent customer satisfaction. Field products include wieners and franks, bacon, smoked sausage, fresh sausage, ham and a variety of lunch meats. During 2008, SFG received $2.7 million from the Kentucky Economic Development Authority, $1 million from the state Agricultural Development Board and $1,000 in county agriculture money each from McLean, Casey and Jefferson counties and to help expand production in Owensboro. Swedish Match 1121 Industrial Drive Owensboro, KY 42301 (270) 685-7200 Swedish Match is one of the worlds largest producers of chewing and pipe tobacco and one of the major players in the growing value-priced segment for American snuff. The Swedish Match North America Division manufactures and markets snus and snuff, machinemade cigars, chewing tobacco and pipe tobacco for the U.S. market. The products are manufactured in Owensboro, Ky. and Dothan, Ala. In 2009, Louisville-based National Tobacco Co. will move production of 39 of its products to Owensboro under a long-term agreement with Swedish Match North America. The new products will bring seven to 10 jobs with them. The company has about 350 employees in Owensboro now. All of National Tobacco’s loose-leaf tobacco brands will be produced in Owensboro in the future. Those brands include Beech-Nut and the value-priced Durango.
