Thanks goes to local conservation groups like the Beaufort County Open Land Trust, which purchases and preserves immense tracts of unspoiled real estate not only to guard the land, but also to protect Beaufort’s precious waterfront views. Today, the Open Land Trust protects more than 13,000 acres.
