Local historians lead tours that get up-close with historic homes. Perhaps pedaling is more your speed. Sea Island Bike Tours offers guided excursions throughout the area. You can customize a tour to fit your agenda and pace. For a different perspective, climb aboard a boat tour. Several charter boats take you along the Beaufort River or the ACE Basin. lady’s island Enjoy: Bag some birdies at the densely wooded Lady’s Island Country Club or at Sanctuary Golf Club on nearby Cat Island. ExplorE: After navigating the area’s waterways, drop anchor at the gleaming Lady’s Island Marina. The sleepy residential community sits just across the bridge from downtown Beaufort. ExpEriEncE: Chow down on crab legs, clams and shrimp at any of several seafood shanties, including the seriously casual Steamer Oyster & Steakhouse, a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
