LA immediately caught my attention—but for the wrong reason. A
glaring grammatical error was
there in big, bold white letters!
These students’ performances are
certainly more than “all right,”
but your grammar wasn’t. The
word “alright” is not grammatical. While you may indeed see it
in a dictionary, it is considered
nonstandard and should not be
used. Two words are the correct
spelling for “all right.” By the way,

Who, whose 1979 film “The Kids Are
Alright” set the rockumentary standard. Glad you like the magazine!
HiS SunSHine
I am writing regarding your lovely
article, “How Sweet the Sound.”
My dad had a long battle with
dementia and Parkinson’s disease. I frequently visited my parents during this time to give my
mom a much-needed break as
well as spend time with my dad.
I purchased an iPod and always
brought it along with me on my
visits. My dad’s face would light up
as I played the songs from his past,
and he would smile while Frank
Sinatra sang “Fly Me to the Moon”
or Henry Mancini played “Moon
River.” My dad fell in October,
and while the nurses and doctors
were scurrying around the hospital room, I came up to his bed and
started singing “You Are My Sunshine.” My dad sang along with
me. It was the last song he ever
sang, and he passed away peacefully in January. Thank you
for bringing back a wonderful
