To guide Saint Nick past the sultry mermaids of Cape Neddick, the Nubble—authorized to be built in 1879 by President Rutherford B. Hayes and now on the National Register of Historic Places—will be lit with thousands of holiday lights, allowing families to spend some quality time with the jolly old guy.
