A FAMILY ORDEAL I recently read your article “Dear Matthew, Joshua, & Noah...” while flying. As a former Marine and the father of a special-needs son, I couldn’t help but be affected by it. The emotional strength of Lt. Col. Mark Weber and his family is truly inspiring. My family has also had some very trying times recently. Last June my oldest son, Logan, was struck with a bacterial infection that caused him to lose both of his kidneys, his right eye, his fingers, and his right foot. Reading Weber’s story brought back all the emotions I felt as my family and I laughed, cried, and generally held it together throughout my son’s ordeal. Next month we will all be using my Rapid Rewards Points to fly to Oregon to make up for a trip we missed last year. I have always enjoyed being part of the Southwest family and now even more so. ODD NUMBERS I enjoy your magazine, but I have a suggestion regarding the puzzles in your Fun! section: Please make the “Warm-Up” and “Easy” sudoku puzzles easier. I am experienced with sudoku and routinely do the “hard” puzzles in newspapers and books. Based on about 10 Southwest flights, I have consistently found the “Warm-Up” and “Easy” puzzles to be very difficult, more so than the “Medium” ones. Since you offer these for the enjoyment of your passengers, some easier puzzles would help you better achieve your goal. Providing four levels of difficulty is a great idea, but it would be even greater if the easiest one could encourage a beginner with success.
