"We are honored to have such extraordinary opera to offer Tampa audiences and fans from all around the globe." The 2014-2015 Florida Opera Festival, celebrating Opera Tampa's 20th anniversary season, runs from January to March. It features an intimate solo concert with tenor Marcello Giordani, direct from his starring role in Aida at the Metropolitan Opera, as well as the operatic masterpiece Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi. The festival's grand ﬁnale - Puccini's Madama Butterﬂy - is a tribute to Opera Tampa's debut 1996 production, a staging of the same opera. As part of his vision to foster emerging talents and bring opera to the next generation of fans, Maestro Lipton created the New Voices program, a fellowship opportunity for four singers to train and perform under the guidance of Opera Tampa. Members of New Voices will take on roles in both main stage operas and in their own New Voices concert. Furthering its ongoing contributions to the international opera community, Opera Tampa has also instituted the annual Anton Coppola Excellence in the Arts Award, given to someone who has made signiﬁcant contributions to the art form.
