Rigoletto (2013) Opera Colorado thrives in Denver. Rocky Mountain For over 30 years, audiences in Denver and the Rocky Mountain region have enjoyed world-class performances by Opera Colorado. And now, after restructuring and a successful fundraising drive, the company has reafﬁrmed its commitment to producing new works and a classic repertoire, providing outreach to the community, and training the next generation of singers. Opera Colorado's Stories that Sing campaign helped raise $1.9 million dollars by last June. The campaign's success, in addition to funds raised through the company's Annual Campaign, demonstrates that Denver is equally committed to Opera Colorado, and the importance of opera in the regional arts and culture landscape. Looking ahead, Opera Colorado's 2014-2015 season will include operatic mainstays, such as Puccini's Madama Butterﬂy (November), Mozart's The Magic Flute (May 2015), and Verdi's Aida (November 2015). In 2016, the company will produce the world premiere of The Scarlet Letter, a Letter contemporary adaptation of this literary classic. Besides grand opera, Opera Colorado is also involved in outreach. An array of education and community engagement programs reach more than 35,500 students throughout the state each season.
