Window or Aisle? engage Chatting with a Frequent Flyer Love is in the air for frequent flyers Michael Scalise and Lindsay Bowman. The couple met in Charlotte, and they've been inseparable ever since. How did you meet? Travel tips: MICHAEL: STAY OPENMINDED. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO MEET SOMEONE. LINDSAY: DRESS TO IMPRESS. YOU MIGHT MEET SOMEONE WHO COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER! Lindsay: I met Michael on a flight from Charlotte to Fort Lauderdale in 2011. I'd just finished my first semester of law school and was feeling pretty stressed out. I was late and running to make my flight. I sat near Michael and noticed him right away. Just before takeoff, he offered me some gum. I said, "No, you have to try mine." It was key lime flavored. He graciously took it and said it was wonderful. I found out later that Michael hates key lime pie. [Chuckles.] But in that moment, my day turned around. Michael: I was heading home after spending family holiday time in the Northeast. I saw Lindsay and thought I really hope she sits near me. She sat in the same row, and we talked the entire flight. Our conversation continued all the way to baggage claim. We exchanged numbers, and it's been magic ever since. While I was still in the terminal, I called my friend and said, "I just met the girl I'm going to marry!" After dating for about two and half years, I asked Lindsay to marry me on July 4, 2013. I help small- to medium-size companies solve their financial problems. I work in New York City quite often. Lindsay: I'm a housewife. We have two dogs - one of which we named Charlotte for our favorite US Airways hub. I enjoy living in South Florida. Why US Airways? Michael: That's easy. I met the girl of my dreams on US Airways. It's hard to fly any other airline. I collect US Airways memorabilia, and you can see my love for the airline in my office. Clients often think I'm a pilot, but I tell them, "Nope, that's how I met my future wife." You haven't had your honeymoon yet. Do have any travel plans? We're pretty set on Europe. Lindsay: I studied abroad in Spain while in school. I want to take Michael to Madrid and Segovia. I lived in Segovia and fell in love with it. Michael: Window or Aisle?
