Meanwhile, Fisk students also excel in the arts. The Fisk Jubilee Singers®, an a cappella group that dates back to 1871, were awarded the National Medal of Arts, the highest honor from the U.S. government for artistic merit, in 2008. Looking across the campus, one structure stands out above the rest. It is Jubilee Hall, and as the first permanent building constructed in the South for the education of African Americans, it's a symbol of progress. Under the leadership of Dr. H.
