The Pre-Columbian gallery
showcases the artistic styles of many
ancient peoples. Marvel at gold
jewelry and pottery from Central
and South America, as well as rarely
seen Navajo sand-painting textiles.
Audio sets help museum-goers
navigate the exhibits, which are
largely from the private collection
of David Bogle. His mission: to give
visitors a deeper sense of how Native Americans lived. And it’s impossible not to come away with a
new appreciation for the estimated
20 to 60 million people who were
native to North America when the
Europeans first reached its shores.
The Museum of Native American History is more than a Bentonville treasure. It’s a national repository that honors the lives and
cultures of the first Americans.
