With a long list of Olympians over
the years, few programs in the nation
have been more consistently triumphant than Razorback men’s track and
field, which has claimed an astonishing 41 NCAA championships, including the 2013 indoor title. A vast majority of Razorback teams compete in
post-season play, including 15 of 19
teams in 2012–13.
Beyond wins and championships,
athletics help provide valuable resources to support the institution’s academic
mission. Razorback Athletics is one of
only 23 collegiate programs in the
nation that is financially self-supporting. No tuition dollars or student fees
flow to varsity sports. Remarkably,
money flows the other way. The Razorback athletic department returns to the
university more than $2 million a year
