The group invests in the talents of 450 high school students each year, offering free studio art classes on weekends, along with college and career planning. Many wouldn’t have access to advanced arts education if not for Ryman Arts. The best part? These artists give right back to the community. Ryman Arts and its students bring art to the public with The Big Draw LA initiative, an international project inviting the community to see drawing as a tool for creative expression. Check out thebigdrawla.org for the many drawing events happening throughout October, including Make Your Mark in the Park, in which Ryman Arts students lead the public in creating a huge collaborative drawing in downtown LA. California African American Museum Located in the heart of Exposition Park, California African American Museum (CAAM) shares the history, art, and culture of African Americans, with a special emphasis on California and the western U.S. With about 13 exhibitions and more than 80 public programs per year, CAAM is a vital institution in LA. The facility houses a stunning permanent collection and offers free admission.
