Sweet Success For Enstrom Candies, quality ingredients are a family tradition. The Enstrom family has been actively involved in the success of the Grand Junction community, where they volunteer their time and contribute financially to local healthcare, arts, and nonprofit organizations. Today, Enstrom Candies is owned by Chet's granddaughter, Jamee, her husband, Doug Simons, and their children, Doug Jr. and Jim. "Chet had a great idea and a great recipe," Doug says. "It was all about quality and reputation. He was very involved in his community, and it remains important for Enstrom Candies to give back to our community." hen Chet Enstrom began making ice cream at Barthel's Confectionery in Colorado Springs in 1919, he had no idea he'd someday make it big in the toffee business. By observing the candy makers at Barthel's, Chet's passion for the confectionery arts grew, and after working at Barthel's for ten years, Chet and his partner started the Jones-Enstrom Ice Cream Co. in Grand Junction. He never gave up his dream of making candy, and before long, he created his very own mouth-watering almond toffee recipe.
