Centrally located along North Carolina's I-40 corridor between Wilmington, Raleigh, and five of the nation's largest military bases, Duplin County is within an hour's drive to the deep-water ports of Wilmington and Morehead City. The modern Duplin County Airport gives private aircraft fast access to eastern U.S. destinations. Agriculture, food processing, and the manufacturing industry drive the local economy. Duplin's agricultural leadership - from family farms to corporate headquarters of major producers - has witnessed the region's growth in livestock trade and as a destination for manufacturing and distribution companies.
