Located on the Gila River Indian Community, this luxe property is home
to the Pima and Maricopa tribes. Their culture
permeates the resort, and there’s no better way
to experience it than by dining here.

database of ingredients connected
to the Pima and
Maricopa People.

hard at work
researching history, listening to stories from elders,
and spending time with local ethnobotanists.

At Kai, the signature restaurant, diners experience Native American heritage in everything from
the food to the decor. Since 2007, Chef de Cuisine
Josh Johnson has led the kitchen, developing
menus and managing daily operations. Seasonal

blossom syrup.

Five Diamond rating (the only one in Arizona
and one of only a select few in the country)?
Tables come with Frette linens and temperaturecontrolled flatware; the service is attentive, but not
overbearing; and the Native American–inspired
menu changes often to reflect the freshest ingredients available. Local art such as pottery and woven
baskets adorn the walls of the elegant, serene
space, with cactus ribs built into the ceiling.
