2014, all incoming freshmen will be required to
complete the two-year program,” explains Gilmore.
“Those who continue on and complete all four
years will receive a minor in leadership and a
medallion upon graduating.”
Thirty different bachelor degree programs help
students excel in everything from Criminal Justice
to Engineering, and from “cybercrime” with Computer Security and Information Assurance (CSIA)
to the liberal arts.
“Through our Criminal Justice degree — the
most popular on campus — cadets learn all of the
tools to further their careers in law enforcement,
as federal agents, and military officers,” says
RADM Richard Schneider USCGR (Ret.), president of Norwich University. “We have a 92 percent
post-graduate employment rate, and over one third
of our cadets accept military commissions. But
what is most important is that we are graduating
outstanding officers and civilian leaders — both
of which our country needs.”
The Criminal Justice degree is one of two bachelor’s programs available through Norwich’s acclaimed online graduate and continuing education
programs, honored in 2013 by US News & World
Report as having four of the best online degree
programs in the nation. For many working adults,
including active-duty military, Norwich’s strong
academics and applied learning methods prepare
them to solve real-world problems in their communities and workplaces. “It’s both a rewarding and a
convenient way to advance their education and
career,” says Bill Clements, vice president and dean
of the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies.
“Thirty-five percent of our graduate enrollment
is military, from retired to the reserves, and we
have the only completely online MBA program,”
says Clements. “One of our newest degrees, a
Bachelor of Science in Strategic Studies
and Defense Analysis, graduated its first
two classes in 2012 and 2013 with 35 soldiers and sailors who will move on to a
career in Special Operations.”
