breast cancer awareness and search for a cure. Raising Awareness and Camaraderie The campaign has also brought many airline employees closer together. “There are so many people within the company who have bonded through this,” says Bryan Rohwer, a US Airways ﬂight attendant whose wife, Brenda, also a ﬂight attendant, was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. “There are quite a few ﬂight attendants who have dealt with breast cancer, and it has really brought us together,” he says. Having that support group helped Bryan last fall as Brenda became ill. “She got through the ﬁrst round of chemo really well,” he says. “But then she developed a brain virus, and we almost lost her at the end of September.” Bryan says that his fellow employees supported him and his family throughout the ordeal. They set up prayer chains, organized a live auction, and brought food to the hospital where Bryan and his family were staying. “There was one woman who brought us Italian food. I didn’t recognize her and assumed she knew Brenda. But she said she didn’t know any of us. She just wanted to do something nice,” he says. “That really got me.
