Adventure — that helped to shape my life a lot,” Zac says. “Being there as a kid, and then later working there as a counselor for children with special needs, my heart is based in that.” Sprawling across nearly 500 acres in Fayette County, Georgia, Camp Southern Ground is expected to open in the summer of 2014. It will accommodate 250 children, with the mission to help them overcome academic, social, and emotional difficulties to reach their full potential. And when he’s home, you can bet that Zac will stop in for a visit, perhaps strumming a tune by the camp fire. “I can’t believe one man can do all this — what a powerful vision,” says Sonia Leigh. “You can tell he was definitely touched by something special and put on this earth to do so many things.
