photos-courtesy of PA DCNR Catfish structures Pinchot Lake has a number of fish habitat structures that were put in place by PFBC, as well as a number of turtle basking structures. These structures were built with the help of the partnership between park staff and volunteers to improve the habitat for fish and turtles in the lake. The structures are also popular fishing spots, even during the winter months when ice anglers can be found ice fishing over them. Gifford Pinchot State Park has a large network of trails including the Lakeside Trail. This trail is a difficult but worthwhile 81/2-mile loop around the lake that provides beautiful lake views, places to stop and cast a line, chances to see wildlife with every step and the opportunity to connect with nature. The Friends of Pinchot State Park is a non-profit organization of volunteers who work to preserve, protect and enhance the natural and recreational resources of the Pontoon boat tour park. Membership in this group is a great way to support the park and get involved with projects. More information can be obtained by contacting the park office. The PFBC's mission to protect, conserve and enhance the Commonwealth's aquatic resources, and provide fishing and boating opportunities, is deeply rooted with partnerships across Pennsylvania. We hope you enjoy the opportunities that these partnerships provide.
