Powder Coated Tough - Fall/Winter 2007 - (Page 39) Are You Making the Mark? T he Powder Coated Tough® Mark was created in 1998 to provide an easily recognized symbol that promotes powder coating and a powder coated finish, similar to the wool and cotton marks. The development of this Mark resulted from market research conducted with consumers, members of the finishing industry, and marketing and advertising executives who work for manufacturers of powder coated products. There are 135 manufacturers of powder coated products signed up for the Powder Coated Tough® Mark program, along with companies supplying powder coating materials, equipment and services. They are displaying the trademark on brochures, catalogs, stickers, business cards, their web site, letterhead, shipping boxes and their trucks. The Mark already is in use by many manufacturers as well as custom coaters.
