Her first day was July 23, 2007. In her position, Sheila manages the membership database, serves as a staff contact for PCI committees, helps develop and manage the PCI Annual Meeting and other PCI events, assists in the accounting functions of PCI, and works with Greg Bocchi on various association projects. Sheila has 20 years of experience with associations in the Washington, D.C., area. For seven years prior to joining PCI, she worked as meetings coordinator with the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association, managing annual meeting registration and planning several seminars and meetings throughout the year. Before that, she spent 13 years as programs coordinator with the National Rifle Association, with a variety of day-to-day administrative responsibilities. PCI Executive Director Greg Bocchi comments, “Sheila’s wide range of association experience is ideal for the multiple duties she has in her new position at PCI, and we are fortunate to have her with us.” ill Oeters, president, and Mel Fisher, chairman of the board of Cincinnati-based Galaxy Associates, announce the acquisition of Innovative Chemical Solutions (ICS), Chelsea, Mich. Galaxy manufactures industrial chemical products and services for the general manufacturing industry, and ICS offers customized metalworking coolants, cleaners, rust preventives, and stamping and drawing compounds. Jim Cramer, ICS president and CEO was named vice president of Galaxy Associates, and all ICS manufacturing operations and ICS personnel remain in Chelsea. With the additive, formulators of industrial powder coatings—including polyester-TGIC, polyester/epoxy hybrids, polyester/primids or urethanes—can achieve uniform, reproducible hammertone finishes. Designed to provide control of powder coating structured finishes, the additive works across a variety of pigmentations and can be used to create a hammertone effect with metallic and nonmetallic pigments. Effective at low addition rates, the additive produces a coarse structure in powder coatings when added between 0.2 and 0.5 percent.
